Citizens Review Board for Children

Maryland’s Citizens Review Boards for Children (CRBCs) are Governor-appointed bodies within the Department of Human Services that review child foster care cases for the state. There are CRBCs for each of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions and CRBC members serve in a volunteer capacity. For more details, visit the CRBC page on the Department of Human Services website.

As part of the Moore-Miller Administration’s commitment to leaving no child in Maryland behind, the Appointments Office is currently recruiting individuals to serve on CRBCs across the state. We hope you will recommend somebody—or consider this opportunity yourself—to serve our children!

CRBC applicants:

  • must be 21 years or older
  • must reside in the jurisdiction that the CRBC of interest serves
  • must pass a background check
  • must be passionate about supporting the welfare and wellbeing of our children
  • must be able to meet specific CRBC member requirements
